Dana Dajani is an award-winning Palestinian actor and writer based in Dubai. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre from Columbia College Chicago, and began her professional acting career on the Windy City’s stages.
In 2011 Dana moved to Dubai, where she quickly gained recognition for her performances in Arabic and English. On stage, Dana wrote and starred in Kalubela, winner of Time Out Dubai’s award for Best Theatrical Performance of 2012. Her short films have been in festivals across the Middle East, garnering awards such as Best Actress in Tropfest 2011 and Best Film at the Arab Film Studio Competition 2013. Later that year, Dana was one of only two international artists invited to Australia to develop and perform a new work at the Sydney Opera House.
Just 5 years after relocating to Dubai, Dana was honored as Emirates Woman "Artist of the Year" and received the Young Arab Award for Entertainment in 2016. She was also recognized by Stylist Arabia as one of the "50 Influential and Inspirational Women in the UAE".
As an event MC and presenter, Dana draws on her varied experience in comedy, poetry, and as a role-play facilitator for HR trainings, in order to custom- create corporate content which is eloquent, entertaining, and informative. Dana has been a gracious host and emcee headlining corporate events as diverse as black-tie galas, brand launches, government summits, and staff retreats. Clients include Coca Cola, Bridgestone, Etisalat, Damas, Johnson & Johnson, Bayt.com and others.
Dana has become a sought after mentor in the realms of acting and directing, public speaking, and voice over work. She works on an individual basis with professionals, and also trains entire teams. She is known for incorporating elements of improvisation and theatrical flair to encourage more dynamic and engaging public speakers in the workplace.
Additionally, Dana is a published author and poet, and can often be spotted performing her spoken-word poetry in a musical collaboration called Floetics. A freestyle riff on rhythm and rhyme, Floetics have performed at many premier music venues and festivals in Dubai such as SIKKA Art Fair, The Music Room, Jazz@Pizza Express, FORTLOM- First Ladies (For The Love of Music), Dubai Yoga & Music Festival, Freshly Ground Sounds, and DIFC Art Night. Independently, Dana has recently collaborated with Dubai-based cellist and producer, Aaron Kim, to create an EP called "type two error", which fuses electronic sounds and poetry. Dana and Aaron have performed in festivals all over the UAE, such as SIKKA Art Fair, Mother of the Nation Festival, and Festival@ Ideas Forum.
